As part of Gordon’s advisory role for the Salt Lake City International Airport Terminal Redevelopment Program, and in collaboration with the Utah Arts Council, the Studio has developed a request for qualifications call in an effort to find qualified and talented artists that are motivated to create artwork as part of the SLC Department of Airports Master Art Plan for large-scale art walls in 24 restrooms throughout the new airport. Out of almost 500 qualified submissions we have selected four winning concepts that will come to fruition. The winning artists will be announced later this year so stay tuned!
It is anticipated that all 2-dimensional art styles will be represented in the installations, including but not limited to, abstract, figurative, representational, graphic, conceptual, collage, landscape, print, photography, etc. Each restroom will feature unique and original artwork intended to create an immersive and engaging experiences for travelers.
