Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection, the luxury resort and residential community currently in construction in south Napa, is set to open in spring 2021 and will “celebrate the heritage of Napa Valley with architecture, cuisine and guest experiences inspired by the land,” said a news release.
“The Stanly Ranch Resort is envisioned as a place where people can come to relax, socialize, and enjoy themselves in a five-star quality resort that is deeply connected to the land and the locale. It will combine contemporary themes of design, community, locally sourced food, sustainability, and fitness and wellness together in a fresh, active, and social environment,” stated BrightView Design Group, the landscape architecture firm involved in the project.
Gordon Huether’s sculpture, “Infinity” is designed to support these themes.
Located at the highest point of the 700 acre property and measuring approximately 60 feet long, 40 feet wide and 20 feet tall, Infinity is constructed of Cor-Ten steel, a steel alloy that forms a stable rust-like appearance after several years’ exposure to weather. This material was selected for its organic appearance and will aesthetically homogenize the sculpture with the natural surroundings of the site.
Although massive in scale, this structure has a calming effect with its never ending design and subtle lighting on the underside that gently beckons residents and guests to visit its hilltop views. Named for the endless line of the infinity symbol, which has a long history and powerful meaning, Infinity represents infinite possibilities, eternity, empowerment, and everlasting love, in support of the balanced and healthy lifestyle that Stanly Ranch Resort endorses.
