Design Process Underway for the New Central Tunnel at Salt Lake City International Airport

Written on March 7, 2019

On February 22, 2019  two key members from the SLCDA team came to the studio for a visit and to review preliminary designs for the Central Tunnel. The pedestrian tunnel, which spans over 1000 feet, will connect travelers from the main concourse to the new north concourse and Gordon has been engaged to create an immersive and exciting experience for travelers that is inspired by the natural beauty of Utah.

Gordon and our design team spent many weeks exploring different ideas and concepts. The goal is to connect the art experiences from the main concourse and the north concourse on the travelers’ journey through the Tunnel. After Gordon presented numerous schematic concepts, digital renderings, videos and material samples, feedback was provided and a direction was given.

So, stay tuned for more updates to see where this exciting new piece of the project is headed!
