On Saturday, April 21, 2018, the studio was jam packed with more than 200 of Gordon’s friends, colleagues and fans, all joining together to celebrate his 30-year career in public art and the release of his new catalog. Among the special guests joining Gordon were California State Senator Bill Dodd (District 03), City of Napa Mayor Jill Techel, City Council Member Peter Mott, and Napa County Supervisors Brad Wagenknecht and Alfredo Pedroza.
Gordon was surprised and very honored to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Legislature acknowledging his community service, volunteerism and advocacy for public art. In addition, the City and County of Napa presented Gordon with a Proclamation recognizing his 14 years of service as a City of Napa Planning Commissioner, contributions to public art and his significant leadership in the creation of the City of Napa’s 9/11 Memorial. The Joint Proclamation designated Saturday, April 28, 2018 as Gordon Huether Day in both the City and County of Napa. Truly a special honor for Gordon, a life-long resident of Napa!
