Each year The Silicon Valley Business Journal a local business news publication, honors the real estate industry’s best in Silicon Valley with their annual Silicon Valley Structures Awards.
We are proud to announce that the 4th Street Parking Garage in Morgan Hill, featuring Gordon’s Poppy Jasper and the iconic Tarantula, received a 2017 Structures Award in the category Community Impact!
Gordon Huether Studio was part of the design and build team that submitted a proposal package in response to the City of Morgan Hill’s request for proposals for the Fourth Street Parking Garage project back in 2014.
The new garage has been favorably recognized as “that quirky building adorned with a giant tarantula sculpture, seemingly crawling up the side of the structure.” Since the garage has opened, it has had a significant impact on development in the area.
Developers are giving credit to the new garage for bringing interest to the area as well as attracting new projects to nearby sites. With the addition of much-needed parking, both visitors and locals are more inclined to venture downtown, as parking is no longer an issue in the area.
