Acrylic, Resin, Buttons, Moveable Type, Tintypes and Paint | 30”W x 40”H x 3”D
The Uncommon Objects Series theme of well-used found objects contrasted with contemporary materials is continued in these compositions. In ‘Bingo Bango’, Bingo cards have been altered, creating windows that reveal the slick surface of red acrylic beneath them.
Their geometric shapes provide contrast to the organically shaped rectangle at the bottom of the piece made of mouth blown Lamberts glass.
Modern, translucent, and reflective materials evoke remembrance and reflection on the many hands of people, perhaps those of the individuals represented on the tintypes, that for instance have been placed atop the buttons of ‘Button, Button Who’s Got The Button’.
