Polaris K – 12 School

Anchorage, Alaska, USA | Recycled Materials | 7 Collages @ 7’ H x 7’ W | 2006

Overview

Huether has a long history of working with children from across the demographic spectrum and has even created public art installations with them. One relevant project was with the Polaris School in Anchorage, Alaska (Commissioned by Municipality of Anchorage).

A whole classroom of 7th and 8th graders joined Huether on trips to recycling centers and junkyards to gather repurposed objects that were used to create large-scale wall-mounted art for the exterior of their school.
