30”W x 42”H - 40"H x 3”D | Salvaged Metal, Paint and Wood | 2002
This dynamic, forceful wall-mounted piece combines salvaged metal, eye-catching, dichroic glass, and glass lenses. This sheet looks as though it has lived a hard life, revealing bangs, scrapes, and dents, with deep grooves where the panels meet.
The metal panels are rusted and weathered into dense layers of reddish-brown and orange and are accented with smooth dichroic lenses that stand out against the field of warm tones. This series continues Huether’s exploration of the painterly events that occur as the result of natural processes.
