Over a period of two months, I held numerous zoom calls, exchanged correspondence with several officers, interviewed a local police officer here in Napa, and conducted hours of research and documentation to inform my design for The Blue Hand.

Half-inch thick aluminum will be the primary material for the hand. Only stainless steel hardware will be used on the artwork. Mirror polished stainless steel will be used for the sphere. High quality automotive paint will be used to coat the hand as well as the stainless steel standoffs. All parts will be coated where they come into contact with a dissimilar material to prevent the possibility of galvanic corrosion.
