Interior Wall
Salt Palace Convention Center

Salt Lake City, Utah, USA | Metal, Paint | 18’ H x 90’ W x 3’ D | 2006

Overview

This installation, which can also be viewed through the glass-curtain wall from outside, consists of salvaged metals in two horizontal bands. Rusted weather marks on the metal are representative of patterns created by the Great Salt Lake. A painted, curved metal panel measuring 44 feet long and six feet high, shifts in color from intense blue, to deep magenta, to honey gold depending on the viewers angle.

This public art installation was part of the 2006 expansion of the Salt Palace that was awarded Silver LEED status for being designed and constructed utilizing environmentally responsible techniques.
