Gordon Huether 2023 Catalogue5 From the Artist About The Studio Selected Work In-Progress Salt Lake City International Airport Proposals Resume Index Photography Credits 7 9 11 63 71 87 103 115 1197 I am so pleased to share the latest edition of our catalog. For some of you, this is a first look at work I have completed since the beginning of my career, nearly 40 years ago. For others, you’ll no doubt remember some installations, and I hope you will share my excitement for more recent works, particularly those completed or conceived in the past five years. Storytelling and adding beauty into shared spaces has been my life’s work. For every commission, I am guided by my mission statement: to inspire the spirit of humanity by bringing beauty and meaning into the world through art. As a self-taught artist, I experiment with different materials and methods. I rely on my instincts and relationships with clients to translate their visions, values, and sense of community into innovative and meaningful artwork. My career has brought me from Napa, where I worked with my father at our kitchen table, to creating art for universities, civic buildings, parks, transit centers, hotels, hospitals, and now, a multi-million-dollar collaboration with the Salt Lake City International Airport. I hope you derive as much pleasure from looking at the work in this catalog as I did creating it. I am honored by the longevity of my career, and I strive to grow and evolve each year, reflecting the changing times and expectations for artwork in our homes and public places. From the beginning of my career, I have tried to create transformative and emotionally engaging artwork for viewers. Artwork that conveys a unique, iconic, and meaningful journey through the spirit, identity, and community culture. I hope this catalog represents that ambition. As always, I am passionate about the process of creating art and humbled by the privilege of making it every day. Thank you and enjoy!
