Public Art for Light Mitigation Wall Just Completed

We just completed the installation of a major site-specific artwork at Vail’s new I-70 Underpass roundabout. The installation is part of a light mitigation wall at the south edge of the South Frontage Road roundabout. Huether’s innovative and unique concept is inspired by Vail’s natural beauty and landscape and its world-class cultural reputation.

Finalist for ‘Fallen Five Memorial’ in Chattanooga, TN

The City of Chattanooga, Public Art Chattanooga and the Steering Committee for the ‘Fallen Five Memorial’ have selected team Gordon Huether & Landscape Architectural Firm Gates + Associates as one of three finalists to create a design concept for a significant memorial installation to commemorate the fatal shootings of five servicemen on July 16th, 2015. To learn more about the community of Chattanooga and the project itself, Gordon traveled to Tennessee to attend memorial events dedicated to the Fallen Five for the event’s two-year anniversary.

Video Illustrating the Innovative Technology Behind 'The Canyon' at SLC Airport!

We are excited to share this fascinating video of the 'making of' 'the Canyon,' our largest, commission to-date, and one of a selection of art installations for the new Salt Lake City Int'l airport. The video highlights the extraordinary collaboration among Gordon Huether Studio, Rainier, Duval and FabriTec Industries to make 'The Canyon' come to life. Viewers will gain deep insight into design development and manufacturing techniques and learn about the state-of-the-art equipment used for the manufacturing of 'The Canyon.'

Fresno's Mariposa Plaza Reactivated With Vibrant Public Art

On Wednesday, July 19th, Gordon joined Fresno's Council Member Oliver Baines of District 3 and his team in order to to introduce his artwork proposal for the reactivated Mariposa located in downtown Fresno. The meeting was an opportunity for the community of Fresno to meet Gordon and hear more about his concept development, approach and vision for the newly revitalized plaza.
